How to print encrypted PDF

To directly print an encrypted PDF file, please refer to the following procedure.
Here, as an example, the procedure for printing an encrypted PDF file stored in a USB memory is described.
In addition, the following procedures are described using the MX-4170FV as an example.

  1. Insert the USB memory into the MFP.

2. When the “External memory device is connected.” dialog screen appears, tap [Print from external memory device].

3. A list of files in the USB memory will be displayed. Tap the folder or file containing the data to be printed. Here, tap the folder where print data is saved.

4. Select the encrypted PDF file in the folder and tap [Change settings and print].

5. When the print screen is displayed, tap [Start].

6. When the dialogue screen “There is encrypted PDF data in the spool queue.” is displayed, tap [OK].

7. The dialog screen “Printing has been reserved. For encrypted PDF data, please enter the password from the spool screen.” will be displayed. Tap [OK].

8. Return to the print screen. Tap [Job Status].

9. The “Job Status” screen will be displayed. Select the [Print] tab and tap [Spool].

10. The spool screen will be displayed. Select the print job and tap [Enter encrypted PDF password] on the action panel.

11. The “Please enter your password” dialog screen will be displayed. Enter your password and tap [OK].

12. After a while, check that it has been printed. Now you can print the encrypted PDF.
